ReplyDeletebeautiful lines...
ReplyDeleteWish you all a great 2010.
I loved this poem...even though I wanted so badly to rearrange the lines. I know...very presumptuous of me. The teacher in me needed to dissect and ponder. I have a feeling that young people would find this maudlin and sappy...but really, how true, how true.

I liked this prompt a lot. In my poem, I wanted to get behind the laughter and weeping and hope and fear that the speaker in "The Year" seems somewhat detached from. My poem turned sad on me, maybe because it was so cold as I wrote it. Thank you for the inspiration.
